 | 12:20 am - portfolio help and a few other questions! i can't navigate the parsons website, it's probably super easy to find and i'm just looking too hard. does anyone know where the requirements for the portfolio is?
i want to transfer from my community college to parsons in the spring. is this realistic? i don't even know what i want to do yet - photography or illustration. should my portfolio be half and half? how hard is it to get in? do you have to write an essay or anything else?
i'm so nervous i'm not going to be able to get in, it's been my dream for years. for personal reasons i haven't been able to even consider it until now, so i'm hoping that an essay or something is needed where i can explain that and my passion.
augh. i'm just so lost. any answers or further information would be great help. thanks!

http://www.avclub.com/articles/july-15-2009,30309/?utm_medium=RSS&utm_campaign=feeds&utm_source=type_savage-love You were recommended to me by an acquaintance familiar with your column and podcast. Lacking other resources at this particular moment, I have decided to write to you. I am a 20-year-old male, and as such have certain desires that almost all 20-year-old males have (desires of a sexual nature). However, I am deeply religious. Religion has been for me a source of strength in my times of weakness, a rock in the times of storm, and above all a home to return to when I have lost my path. In the teachings of my particular religion, to indulge the ...

http://www.avclub.com/articles/july-8-2009,30079/?utm_medium=RSS&utm_campaign=feeds&utm_source=type_savage-love Here’s a hypothetical for you: You’ve been corresponding with a handsome young man who lives in Paris. You know him through a friend in France, and your friend has vetted him. He has offered to pay more than half of your airfare so that you can visit him in Paris. You’ve spoken to him on the phone, and hearing him speak to you in French makes your knees weak. On the one hand, you can’t really afford it—and although he’s agreed to help you pay, you feel guilty for accepting his help. You’re ...

 | 08:49 pm - Know anything about these professors? Hi! I'm seeking out any opinions on the professors I have next semester. I did my research on them all before signing up for classes last semester, but now that I'm looking into them in more depth, I can't seem to find much useful information, not even on RateMyProfessors. I've met Ann Snitow and I've read Jennifer Baumgardner's (and Amy Richards') book Manifesta, so I sort of know about those two, but not much about their teaching and grading styles. Any experiences with the specific classes would also be appreciated, particularly in terms of the ULEC.
So, I'm taking: Intro to Feminist Thought (ULEC) with Ann Snitow Literary Foundations 1 with Michael Pettinger Intro to Non-Fiction: Serious Laughs/Humor and Controversy with Jennifer Baumgardner Public Radio Culture with Sarah Montague On Air: Making a Radio Station with Sarah Montague and Pilates with Sean Gallagher
And while I'm at it, my boyfriend is wondering about Lang on the Hudson with Robert Buchanan, specifically what the work load outside of class is actually like.
Thanks! Any responses would be highly appreciated.
